As the crisp breeze of a new season sweeps in, there’s no doubt you’ll start topping up your wardrobe with new knitwear, but don’t forget to refresh your makeup bag too. For 2023, there are lots of Autumn makeup looks to have some fun with. Whether you like keeping things fresh and light or experimenting with bolder, more adventurous looks (colourful lashes, we’re looking at you), it’s the perfect time of year to try something different. Who knows, your new signature look could be a click away…

Strawberry makeup

Step into a deliciously glamorous world with this latest foody-inspired viral makeup trend inspired by the trailblazer herself, Hailey Bieber. Chances are, you’ve already seen it on TikTok… think fresh, dewy skin with a pink blush, cute freckles and glossy lips. First up? The benefit Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain Benetint Rose-Tinted 6ml – it’s a cult fave and glides onto cheeks for a natural, buildable pink glow. Bring it over the bridge of your nose for a super sun-kissed look.

Next, you’ll need a cream highlighter and  Sisley Stylo Lumière Pen Highlighter 2.5ml in Peach Rose is a lovely, light way to add a touch of dimension to the top of your cheekbones and illuminate your skin. Then, pick up Clinique Quickliner for Brows to dot subtle freckles across the bridge of your nose and cheekbones.

The finishing touch? A berry-scented lip of course. The Dior Lip Glow Oil 012 Rosewood

is infused with cherry oil for deep hydration, giving a super glossy (and non-sticky) finish.

Grunge Gaze

Add a touch of dramatic flair to your eye makeup with this autumn’s soft grunge trend. This goth glam look is all about kohl liner, heavy lashes and shadow shades of brown, grey and black. Fancy it? This Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow 226 Tisse Rivoli 2g eyeshadow palette will equip you with all the dark and daring shades you need. Try blending the darker colours across your lid and under your eye for a more intense look with this Bobbi Brown Brushes & Tools Eye Smudge Brush for a smooth, even finish.

No grunge glam look is complete without heavy eyeliner. This Clinique High Impact Easy Liquid Liner Black 0.67g adds a sharper, more defined shape to your eye. Why not finish with MAC Magic Extension Mascara for volumised, dramatic lashes? Top tip: keep the rest of your makeup look simple and let your eyes be the (rock) star of the show.

Coloured lashes

If the Prada runway is anything to go by, 90s-style colourful lashes are making a comeback. From pastel pink to mint green, a vibrant mascara is a really fun, easy way to experiment with your usual look.

Pick up the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Mascara 258 Catwalk Blue 11.5ml in Catwalk Blue for a pop of bright, electric blue or Chanel Le Volume Mascara 70 Blue Night 6g to add a touch of darker navy to your eye look.

90s ombre lips

This season, faded ombre lips are getting an autumnal update with deeper shades of chocolate brown, warm plum and cherry red.

Want to give it a go? First, you’ll need a great base. This EVE LOM Moisture Kiss Mix Original 7ml is a cult favourite for a reason – it helps soothe, repair and moisturise lips for up to 72 hours of hydration. Apply a layer, let it soak in and then take your darkest lipliner and outline your lips. The M.A.C Lip Pencil 1.45g in Whirl is a great option if you’re after a warm shade of brown.

Next, pick up a much lighter lipstick and fill in your lips. We suggest the M.A.C Retro Matte Lipstick 708 Bronx 3g for a long-wearing, creamy shade of pink. Then, grab a lip brush and blend (from the outside, inwards) to create a 90s look that’ll last all night.

Spiced latte shades

Another foody-inspired trend, the latte look, is getting an autumnal upgrade – say hello to the warmer ‘spiced latte’. You’ll need to start with a brown smokey eye and this Sisley Phyto-Eye Twist in Havana makes it an effortlessly achievable look.

To maximise those brown hues, a quality bronzer is essential. We recommend the benefit Hoola Matte Powder Bronzer 8g swept across your cheekbones, under your jawline and at the sides of your forehead. Finish with a hint of blush – the Grande Cosmetics GrandePOP Plumping Liquid Blush in the shade Tiramisu will add a subtle, rosy touch.

Last but not certainly not least: lips! Finish your look with a velvety soft, chestnut lipstick like this MAC Matte Lipstick in the shade Derrière.
