Celebrating International Women's Day With Benefit Cosmetics: Q&A
March 8th is International Women’s Day, and this year allbeauty are celebrating the women who are bossing the beauty industry! We caught up with one of our favourite beauty brands putting the girl in girl power...Founded in 1976 by twin sisters Jean and Jane Ford, Benefit Cosmetics started life as 'The Face Place' - a San Francisco boutique - before expanding into New York department stores, later followed by global success! We caught up with benebabe Anja, who told us what beauty means to her, and why gender balance is so important...
Who?
Anja Stokic, Benefit Cosmetics Etail Manager.
What does the beauty industry mean to you?
To me, the beauty industry is a community of like-minded women who like to pamper and be the best version of themselves!
What does gender balance mean to you?
Equal representation and treatment of both men and women - regardless of the situation.
What makes a good #girlboss?
Confidence! A girl who is not afraid to chase her dreams and supports others along the way is always inspiring.
What motivates you to succeed?
In my role I am constantly learning! The reward is that ultimate satisfaction when you know you've achieved a certain goal that you worked really hard on.
What advice would you give to young women who want to make it within the beauty – or any – industry?
Keep pushing and don’t give up! It is a very competitive industry but your persistence will pay off one day. And always be kind along the way! :)
Who inspires you?
It is nice to look up to celebrities and famous individuals, but it might be even more inspiring if we pick someone from everyday life. My mum will always be my ultimate inspiration and #girlboss ❤
What are you favourite Benefit products?
I CANNOT imagine a day without Gimme Brow, Roller Lash and Hoola!
