Smart IPL
This is the world’s first smart IPL. IPL, (Intense Pulsed Light) is a technique that uses pulsed light to heat up the melanin in your hair follicles causing the root to be damaged. With repeated use, IPL delays the production of new hair preventing regrowth over time. It is a great alternative to shaving or waxing as it’s pain free and the results last longer. What makes this IPL different to others on the market is the fact that it is a smart device- it learns, and adapts as it is used. It also is the only IPL that provides step-by-step guidance, real-time coverage feedback and smart head recognition and personalised treatment plans based on your hair removal goals. As a result I’ve found it super easy to use as home as it literally gives me instructions and advice whilst I’m using it.  It’s also continuously reads your skin tone and automatically adjusts the intensity level meaning it’s really safe and easy to use, even on areas with uneven akin tones. It chooses the most powerful intensity that is still safe for your skin tone. I’ve used it mainly on my legs but this device is also suitable for more sensitive areas including the pubic area as it comes with 3 different sensitivity settings so it’s easy to get a comfortable and virtually painless treatment. And it also has 2 operating modes - the glide mode is perfect for treating large areas like legs and arms, and a stamp mode for small or hard-to-reach areas like bikini line and face. I’ve never used an IPL before but this one was easy to use effectively, even for a beginner like me. I’ve been using it for 4 weeks now and I’ve already noticed a reduction in the amount of hair growing back. It connects to an app on my phone which gives easy to follow step by step instructions, and it comes in a stylish storage box for when it’s not in use, which also has a handle so I can take it with me when I go away.Â

I love it!
I received my Braun Smart IPL as part of a review panel. I've been using this Smart IPL for a few weeks now, and I'm already seeing a difference to hair regrowth. I love that the app connects with the device so you can schedule in treatments and see how long you have left of each course for each area, and I love that you tailor your programme based on skin tone, hair density and hair colour. The device is easy to use and pain-free (just a bit warm when the lights flash, but not uncomfortably so!) I'm hoping that this means the end of shaving, which leaves me with ingrown hairs which are hard to control. Definitely recommended so far!
