Algae provides multiple benefits to your skin. But what is algae and where does it come from? Algae is a blanket term used for a family of aquatic plants which include visible plants like seaweed and kelp to micro plants like spirulina.

Algae oil and other extracts contain plenty of beneficial ingredients including a purer (and vegan) form of omega 3 fatty acids than fish oil. The omega 3 fatty acids found in algae are great at hydrating your skin and protecting it from harmful UV rays. Red algae also contain iodine which combat microscopic fungus and bacteria that led to hair loss.

Boreal algae resemble melatonin, which helps our sleep cycle and cell regeneration, giving you the dual benefit of a good night’s sleep and a youthful glow. Spirulina is rich in antioxidants, which fight harmful free radicals that contribute to wrinkles.
