HOW TO USE
Gently massage onto a dry face in the morning or evening. Dampen the muslin cloth with warm water and buff face to remove the balm and impurities.
WHAT ARE CERAMIDES?
Ceramides are lipids (oils) found naturally in the skin and are essential in supporting the skin's protective barrier and retaining moisture. They are the building blocks of our skin, comprising over 50% of its composition and play an important role in protecting it against external aggressors like UVA rays and environmental damage, as well as keeping it youthful and supple.
Ceramide quantity and quality start to diminish as skin ages, and when ceramide levels are low, the skin barrier is weakened, allowing moisture to escape (known as transepidermal water loss, or TEWL), which makes it prone to irritation. This can lead to a damaged skin barrier, which causes dry, flaky skin, redness, irritation and dehydration. Applying ceramides directly to the skin helps replenish its barrier and retain moisture. Ceramides also help to improve the skin's tolerance of active ingredients, such as glycolic and salicylic acids by protecting the skin barrier.
Nip + Fab's range contains synthetic ceramides, known as pseudo ceramides, which are more stable, planet-friendly and able to hydrate skin as well as able to better mimic the composition of natural lipids and the skin's natural structure compared to plant-derived ceramides.
